Nana Nina’s Birthday breakfast – Palace Hotel SF

The Sunday after my first meet, we went to the Palace Hotel in San Francisco to celebrate Nana Nina’s Birthday.  My mom said it was a fancy hotel so we all dressed up.  When we got there, we walked in and the hotel was so big and really pretty.  It looked like a palace inside with all the decorations.  The brunch was in this big room and the food started on one side and just kept going around the room.  There was everything you could imagine to eat for breakfast.  All kinds of fruits, cheeses, danishes, meats, omelets, pancakes, crepes to order, salmon, seafood – so many desserts.  You name it and they had it.  It was soooooo good but my parents said it was soooo expensive.  This place is now in a tie for first for my favorite restuarant.  My other favorite is the Melting Pot.  Both places cost alot of money but they are so good.  I definitely recommend the Palace hotel for any celebration.

New Years Eve!

We had a small New years eve party this year.  Kylie came and she brought me a gift – a banana holder 🙂  Some of you may think it’s a strange gift but I’ve always wanted one for some reason and she knew it.  Thanks Kylie, I love it.  Also, Cierra (one of Ari’s best friends)  and her family came and Hannah (One of Ari’s best friends) and her family came.  Shaun our cousin came and Tina and Cierra came too.  My Nonni and Papa came but only stayed for a little bit because she wasn’t feeling very good.  We played the “Guess who I am game”  and 4 on a couch (that is a fun game)  and Pictionary.  We had a little excitement go on before pictionary – just random stuff happened.  Then during Pictionary Tina kept saying Timeout Timeout – What is the category???  It was always on the all play squares and there was never a category.  At midnight we did the count down, had apple cider then ran outside because our neighbor always does these huge loud fireworks.  They are sooooo loud and set off all the car alarms in the neighborhood but all the neighbors are out waiting for them to go off so no one complains and it’s kind of a tradition.   Then Happy New Years!!!  I’m excited for this year and hope it is really great.

Christmas parties, Christmas eve, Christmas and Grandpa’s Birthday

Christmas is my favorite time of year!  I like the gifts and gift giving but I also like that we decorate our house.  I love the lights and the Tree and all the decorations!  We have a fake tree (that replaced our old fake tree) straight from Tahoe.  It’s about 10 or 12 feet high, flocked and with lights.  We found it at a Tahoe thrift boutique out of the box but when we brought it home, all of us were stuck in a snow storm (including the tree) that took us about 10 hours to get home from.  It was a crazy day, our cousins were with us too and parts of the roads were closed and you couldn’t see anything or move on the freeway at all.  Definitely a day I will always remember.  Our December started off with my school party, then we had a Dream Xtreme Slumber Party.  At the party all the Optionals did a slipper gift exchange and I loved the slippers that I got from Aalyiah.  Kylie got slippers for me also (and a bunch of other stuff too) and I was happy because I couldn’t decide which pair I liked more than I ended up getting both.  We played a bunch of Christmas games and ended up going to sleep earlier than usual for our sleep overs – I think about 3:45-4.  It was on the night that the end of the world was supposed to happened and we were all talking about it and right around 3:20am Lightning happened and Thunder shook the gym.  It was scary.  People were screaming and crying and scared.  The storm went on for about an hour but I fell asleep in the middle of it.

A couple of days after was christmas eve.  This year my grandpa got us tickets to see a magic show at the aquarium in San Francisco.  While we were at the show I was picked to be a helper during the show.  It was fun, I had to pick an animal cookie out of the back and the magician drew what I picked before we told him.  The show was really fun!  Then we went to Nannies house, which is my dad’s grandma and my great grandma.  This was going to be a hard Christmas for everyone because it is the first Christmas without Papa.  (My greatgrandpa not Papa Sean)  Then we got home around 11:30pm in time to put treats out for Santa.

Christmas Morning came and my Nonni and Papa came over around 7am, then around 10 my dads side of the family came over for breakfast and gift exchanging and then we went to my Great Nonni’s house in San Anselmo.  It was fun to see everyone and we even have friends that come to visit from next door to my nonni.  Frankie and Mia, Their about the same age as Ari and I so they are fun to hang out with.  We went home late and then woke up early the next morning to go visit my Grandpa and Nana Nina for My Grandpa’s birthday which is Dec. 26th.  We also exchanged our Christmas gifts and got to visit with my Uncle Michael, Aunt Sam and Little Jr.  Everytime we get together we all sing my grandpas favorite song – Awuni kuni cha – we are not native american but its a tradition we do at least once when every one is together.  Strange but fun.  We had a really fun day.
